What is a temporary phone number?
A temporary (disposable) phone number is a shared public number you use for a short time to receive SMS verification codes without giving out your real phone number. On Quick OTP, inboxes are public and not exclusive to you.
Is Quick OTP free?
Yes. Browsing countries, picking a temporary number, and reading SMS on the web is free with no registration.
Do I need an account?
No. We use an anonymous client ID in your browser cookie - no email or password.
Can I send SMS from these numbers?
No. Quick OTP is receive-only. Outbound SMS and voice are not supported.
Are messages private?
No. Anyone with the inbox link can read messages. Never use public temporary numbers for sensitive accounts.
Why didn't my verification code arrive?
Many services block virtual numbers. Try another active number, a different country, or the service-specific flow. See our guides for troubleshooting.
What is the difference between temporary and disposable numbers?
On Quick OTP they mean the same thing: shared public numbers for short-term SMS verification, not long-term personal use.
Can I use these for WhatsApp or Telegram?
Sometimes, but messaging apps often block recycled numbers. Use the Services flow and try multiple countries if one fails.
How do I get more messages on web?
Web has a daily message limit. Download our mobile app for extended access.
How long can I use a temporary number?
As long as the line stays active on Quick OTP. Numbers rotate - a line may disappear or move to Burned status when it is retired. Do not treat public numbers as permanent.
Is using a temporary phone number legal?
In most regions, receiving SMS on a virtual number for verification is legal. Misuse - fraud, impersonation, or bypassing bans - is not. You are responsible for how you use the service.
What do Active and Burned mean?
Active numbers can still receive SMS. Burned numbers are retired from the pool and should not be used for new verifications. Pick an active line with a good success rate.
How long until an SMS arrives?
Usually under two minutes, but some apps delay delivery or block virtual routes entirely. Refresh the inbox and try another active number if nothing appears after a few minutes.
Can I use Quick OTP for banking or email recovery?
No. Public inboxes are visible to everyone. Never use temporary numbers for banking, wallets, cryptocurrency, primary email, or any account you need to keep secure.
What's the difference between Countries and Services?
Same public numbers, different entry points. Countries filters by region first; Services filters by app first. Use whichever matches how you are thinking about the verification.
Do you store my verification messages?
Messages appear in the public inbox while the number is active. They are not private and are not tied to your identity. See our privacy policy for how we handle cookies and contact form data.
